Adjusted Photography

    What is Adjusted Photography?

What is Adjusted Photography?  All digital images are “adjusted” when you press the button to take them.  Your cameras internal software makes slight, or not so slight, adjustments when it captures your shot.  Your software adjusts the file when you import it to your computer.  Don’t believe me?  Try importing the same RAW image into Lightroom, CaptureOne, ON1 Photo RAW, or any other editing software of your choosing and you will see differences between the way each company adjusts your image prior to editing.  A bit of saturation here, contrast there, or sharpening here and there.

    Samsung & Fujifilm – Adjusted

Samsung uses AI (Artificial Intelligence) to adjust their images for you to show the best viewing experience…in their opinion.  They model the adjustments made based on what millions of viewers currently like seeing.  If people like overly saturated, vibrant, colorful images – the Samsung phone software will adjust your image to mirror that look for you.

Fujifilm is known for their in-camera film simulations.  These built-in presets, and now recipes made for their cameras, can dramatically change the way your images look.  Even their RAW images have a different look than say a Canon or Nikon RAW file (mainly due to their sensor).

    Purists…

Photography purists may think their “pure” and untouched, unedited, JPG is not adjusted…but it was…by the camera manufacturers software.  With Adjusted Photography, we wanted to put that idea on the front page:  our images are adjusted, all of them.  Could be a simple conversion to black and white, or as dramatic as a sky swap and composite imagery added.  There is no intent to trick, or deceive with our images, they are more of an artistic statement versus a mirror image of reality.

    Photography…adjusted

So, there it is, on the front page: Our photography is adjusted.  Who cares?  Hopefully no one.  Hopefully people have better things to care about.  But, in case someone does care about such things they can rest assured in knowing our images are adjusted…and for sale.
